4th of July events in Pittsburgh 2017

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has many wonderful attractions and diverse culture packed into our city for anyone to enjoy any time of year, and Independence Day is certainly no exception. Everywhere you turn in the “Steel City”, you will find American heritage, science, and industry, and we like to celebrate these achievements and our people every chance that we get.

We invite you to enjoy a fun and stress-free adventure with us. Our team of professional chauffeurs that comprise our Pittsburgh car service is waiting to help you celebrate our nation’s birthday in style and comfort. Here are just a few of our top suggestions for a fun and patriotic 4th of July.

Museums

Pittsburgh is home to some innovative and inspirational figures, most famously Andy Warhol and Andrew Carnegie. Therefore, it’s no surprise that our city would house monuments and institutions to honor our hometown friends. In the Oakland Neighborhood, you’ll find a collection of Carnegie Museums, including the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Art.

The Northside District houses the Andy Warhol Museum, which includes a huge collection of his pop art creations and even has a replica of his infamous New York City “Factory”, where many of his most recognizable art was generated.

Three Rivers

Pittsburgh’s foundation and rise during steel’s industrial heyday can be attributed primarily to its ideal location along the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. The “City of Bridges”, most notably the Three Sisters, West End, and Fort Pitt bridges, allow for charming and iconic views of the rivers, the skyline and on Independence Day, some of our greatest fireworks displays.

For a unique view of the fireworks, take a fun evening cruise on the Gateway Clipper Riverboat for its Firecracker Dinner, a full buffet with a DJ, dancing and the perfect spot to watch the night sky explode with color. Boarding starts at 6:45 p.m. at Station Square and docks after 10 p.m. Advance tickets start at $89 per person. Don’t delay in purchasing your tickets, as this event sells out quickly.

Parades and Fireworks

The Steelers may not be playing pro football games in July, but their home base at Heinz Field on the North Shore will showcase Pittsburgh’s largest 4th of July fireworks event. Come early and enjoy food, music, and entertainment for the entire family. Admission is free and gates open to guests starting at 2 p.m.

For all-day July 4th festivities, head to the tip of Pittsburgh’s “Golden Triangle” Downtown to Point State Park. These impressive fireworks are set to launch across the Allegheny River around 9:30 p.m. and are preceded by music, entertainment, and a 21-gun salute to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Events begin at 12 p.m. and admission is free.

For exclusive and special fireworks viewing, the Carnegie Science Center can’t be beaten. Reserve a VIP seat on either the 5th-floor overlook or from the USS Requin Submarine. Tickets include museum exhibits, an Omnimax movie, a laser show, popcorn and a drink. Cost is $60 per person and should be reserved well in advance, as seating is limited.

We hope you will consider allowing our team of experienced chauffeurs cater to your transportation needs this holiday. Please give us a call to reserve our sophisticated and courteous Pittsburgh limo service for your memorable 4th of July celebration today.
